In addition to the the ranks and merit badges that a boy may earn, There are a few others that they can earn along with the adults in the troop.  Some of these awards may seem easy and some may not.  If you are interested in earning one of these award(s), talk to someone who has earned it once or twice.  If you try to earn it a second time you cannot get official credit for it.  If you do earn it a second time, you will have the personal satisfaction that you have earned something not vary many people have done, much less twice.  Some of the awards have different degrees like the interpreter strip, which you can earn several, with none of them being the same.
